( 1 Cor 13:1 )- There is tongues of men; which is you speaking another language, but never learned it; There is tongues of angels; Which is God's language never learned;
- This in my opinion is the number one misconception in the church, because the enemy knows if the church gets a hold of this, he's in trouble
- Did Jesus speak in tongues? No biblical account of Jesus speaking in tongues; why not, He was already perfect, God in the flesh ( 1 Tim 3:16 )
- Why do people say it's of the devil? Speaking, praying in unknown tongues, you are cooperating with the Holy Spirit, He has you, and in doing that, you are giving up control of your mouth; Its a control, and trust thing!
- When did tongues begin? Day of Pentecost, when the initial permanent residence of the Holy Ghost, made its home in, UPON, all believers ( Acts 2:1-4 );
- The only thing the enemy can't figure out, is when you are speaking in tongues; The enemy can throw scripture at you wrongly, he can throw ideas, while praising, etc, but with tongues, nothing!
- Paul said he spoke in tongues more than you all ( 1 Cor 14:18 )
- God said don't forbid speaking in tongues ( 1 Cor 14:39 )
- Opposition verses- Did tongues end with the Apostles? NO, ( 1 Cor 13:8-10 ) means when the perfect is come, talking about Jesus, not the word of God, even though the word is perfect, but this is talking about when Jesus comes back ( 1 Cor 1:7 ); Is tongues of the devil ? NO, There is no SCRIPTURE account of devils talking in tongues; A person can SOUND like they are speaking in tongues from the devil, because Satan is a copy cat, not a creator ( Col 1:16 ), because Satan has HEARD others believers do it in church, and a person can fake it; Faith comes by the word of God ( Rom 10:17 ), and you HAVE to mix reading, hearing the word with faith for it to profit ( Heb 4:2 ); Once you mix faith with the word about speaking in tongues ( 1 Cor 12,14 ), and more verses, you can guarantee that it is God, because God confirms His word ( Jer 1:12 ), and once you get it from the word, He will ALWAYS give you that what you ask ( Lk 11:9-13 ); I can't understand you? You are not talking to men, but to God ( 1 Cor 14:2 ), and in your PRIVATE speaking in tongues, NOT church service, you can believe for interpretation ( 1 Cor 14:13 ); Interpret - means to give meaning, explain; Not translate - which means to from one to another; ( Acts 2:6 )- says they spoke in their own language; True, but there are tongues of men, and tongues of angels ( 1 Cor 13:1 );
God's point of view, for the most part from scripture!
- ( 1 Cor 14:2,13 )- You speak, pray in tongues, mysteries to God, so you can receive interpretation, meaning, NOT translation, of certain practical mysteries you may need in your life; The Bible has 66 books, of everything, I believe, God wanted written, to share with us in this life ( 2 Tim 3:16; Ps 68:11 ); With that being said, there are some practical, daily, things, that are in harmony with the Bible, that God wants to reveal to us; Example - I have spoken in tongues, with believing I received interpretation, and have gotten correct car parts, go to a specific restaurant, and pray a specific prayer; Oral Roberts build his university through interpretation of tongues; John, G Lake, and others ministries, have built there ministry based off personal interpretation of tongues; Paul said he spoke in tongues more than any of the church of Corinth ( 1 Cor 14:18 ), and he wrote most of new testament through revelation knowledge ( Gal 1:12; Eph 3:3 ); Which can only be revealed by 1. Tongues with interpretation; 2. Meditating on God's word; I plan on building this ministry the same way; What's God's point of view? He has practical in harmony with His word knowledge, that He wants to reveal to you!
- ( 1 Cor 12:10; 27-28 )- in a church setting, one speaks, one interprets; God has an agenda in some church setting, via, Holy Spirit, ( 1 Cor 12:10 ), that is used for the edification of the body ( 1 Cor 14:26 ); One speaks, one interprets, I believe this blesses God, because it gives Him glory, to see two people in faith, in unity; We are to build each other up when we come together, we spend all week as lamb among wolves, so when we come together, it's to build each other up in unity ( Heb 10:25; Ps 133 ); What's God's point of view? I could spend more time on the importance of unity, but I won't, but God wants His people encouraging each other when we come together, and no better way than operating in the Spirit!
Believers point of view concerning tongues!
- ( 1 Cor 14:2 )- He that speak in a unknown tongue, speak, NOT to men, but to God; Believers get to speak in a language they never learned intelligently, and speak to God; There are a lot of things believers don't know spiritually, that's why Jesus called us sheep ( Jn 10 ), dumb spiritually to say the least; What's the believers point of view? We get to speak directly to God in a language only the Holy Spirit inspires;
- ( 1 Cor 14:2,14; Isa 33:19 )- Believers speak mysteries unto God, and it's your perfect spirit that is speaking; Your body right now is made up of three parts, spirit, soul, body ( 1 Thess 5:23 ); As a believer you have a perfect spirit ( Eph 1:3; Col 1:27; 1 Jn 4:17; 2 Cor 5:17 ), you have the wisdom, joy, healing, prosperous power, etc in you now; What's my point, THAT spirit part of you, that is joined with the Holy Spirit ( 1 Cor 6:17 ) is the part of you that prays, when you pray in tongues; So, you have the perfect part of you speaking mysteries when you pray in tongues; Once again, mysteries, the wisdom of God, is a hidden mystery ( 1 Cor 2:7 ), so speaking in unknown tongues releases mysteries of God; What's the believers point of view? We have a perfect spirit, joined with Holy Spirit, that we can speak mysteries to God;
- ( 1 Cor 14:4; Jude 20 )- Believers that speak in unknown tongues, edify himself to your most holy faith, and keep yourself in the love of God; We as believers need to be encouraged a lot, and it's the ministry of the Holy Spirit to do that ( 1 Cor 2; Rom 8; Jn 14:26; 15:26; 16:13 ), when we speak in tongues, we encourage ourselves, because the Spirit is revealing to us the promises, and good things of God; Encourage means to have strength to overcome difficulty, David encouraged himself in the Lord, when the Amalekites invaded them, and taken some people of theirs captive; They wept, until no more power to weep, and they spoke of stoning him; David was distressed, but he encouraged himself in the Lord ( 1 Sam 30:1-6 ); David DIDN'T have the PERMANENT residence of the Holy Spirit ( Ps 51:10-11 ), so since we do ( Rom 8:11 ), we should STAY encouraged; Believers also, when we encourage ourselves, we build ourselves up, in our most holy faith; Notice, KJV, holy is lower case, meaning NOT the person of the Godhead, Holy Spirit, but an attribute, characteristic, of your perfect spirit; You have a MOST holy characteristic in you, that you can animate to be released through out your body, meaning, by passing, all freshly thoughts, and releasing faith, by speaking in unknown tongues; What's the believers point of view? Those that speak in a unknown tongue encourage themselves;
- ( 1 Cor 14:15 )- Believers that speak in an unknown tongue, sing with the spirit; Once again, you can sing with the perfect part of you; What's the believers point of view? Those that speak in unknown tongues, sing in the spirit;
- ( 1 Cor 14:16-17 )- Believers that speak in unknown tongue, can bless, and give thanks in, with the spirit; What does that mean, you are blessing, speaking good of God, and giving thanks, perfectly, without the finite mind, emotions, interfering with the perfect part of you; Blessing, and giving thanks to God, is a lifestyle attitude; What's the believers point of view? We can bless, and thank God, perfectly in an unknown tongue;
- ( Mk 16:17; 1 Cor 14:22 )- Unknown tongues is a sign, and a positive sign for unbelievers ( only if interpreted in a language they understand )( Acts 2:1-11 ), and negative sign to unbelievers if done in church, or by self, with no interpretation ( 1 Cor 14:23,28 ); Unknown tongues are a sign, first of all, of a manifestation of the Holy Spirit being present ( 1 Cor 12:7 ); I was looking for a barber shop the other day, and I couldn't find it, until I seen the barber shop symbol sign on the building, then I knew it was a barber shop; Same with tongues, it's a sign, that this is the Holy Spirit manifesting Himself; It is also a sign to the unbeliever, like in ( Acts 2:1-11 ), the disciples were speaking in someone else's language, and they believed, because of it; Also, Smith Wigglesworth had a testimony of someone speaking Chinese, that never learned it, and they were saying repent in Chinese, and the Chinese person got saved because of it; What's the believers point of view? Speaking in an unknown tongue, is a sign of the manifestation of the Holy Ghost, and a sign to the unbeliever, to cause to repent;
- ( Rom 8:26-28 )- THESE VERSES ARE NOT FOR SPEAKING IN TONGUES, these verses can be used as a signal TO speak in tongues, for the help from the Spirit; We have weaknesses when it comes to prayer; We don't know everything thing, but the Spirit does; We have access to the strength that we need from the Spirit in prayer, BY praying in tongues, speaking mysteries; The Spirit's groaning is not uttered, it's on the inside, directly in accordance with the will of God; What's the believers point of view? As believers we need help in prayer, and we have access to that help, by praying in the Spirit, allowing the Spirit to intercede for us;
- ( Isa 28:11-12 )- Believers speak in an unknown tongue when you are weary, and need rest, or just need to be refreshed; Whats the believers point of view? As a believer you can come into rest, and get refreshed by speaking in unknown tongues;
- ( Acts 2:1-4 )- Believers can speak in some other cultures language, that they never learned before; There has been testimonies from Smith Wigglesworth, Charles Parham, both witnessing people speaking in another cultures language, never having learned it, and people get saved because of it, because they were telling them to repent in their language; What's the believers point of view? As a believer you can speak in another cultures language that you never learned, to get a message to them, if around them! Wow
Point of view of the enemy!
- ( 1 Cor 14:2 )- The enemy is a copy cat; When you look at the 10 plagues in Exodus ( Ex 7:14-11 ), how God created music to worship Him, God ( Isa 14; Rev 4:8-10 ); How Satan twisted scripture when tempting Jesus ( Matt 4:1-10 ); How the enemy can manipulate elements to their own ends, false signs, wonders ( 2 Thess 2:9 ), like magicians do, or the enemy could bring plagues, but could never destroy them; The sorcerer was deceived and frightened, when she realized God's power to raise dead ( 1 Sam 28:9-12 ), All copies of God; Point, Satan is NOT a creator, he's a copy cat, but the one thing he CANT copy, is unknown tongues; Not saying, that there isn't counterfeit tongues, but the enemy CAN'T duplicate it, like the other examples I've used; Unknown tongues, is unknown tongues, and the enemy has no answer, because he CAN'T understand what you are saying to God; What's the point of view of the enemy? He can't duplicate tongues, he has NO clue what you are saying to God!
